Scenario Menu
Use this menu to access the list of available scenarios or create one of your own! Opening this menu will display a series of columns with available scenario options. The highlighted option shows the currently running scenario, if you want to change to another saved scenario, click a different option. You can also make use of the arrows on the left and right side to view more options.
- New Map Scenario - Selecting this option displays a menu to search for another location to be displayed on the map. You will only be able to use the keyboard to input your search terms. Input your search location to reset the displayed map to your search results. If you want to revisit the location at another date, enter a scenario name and press save near the bottom right corner.
- New Sand Scenario - This option allows the table to save the location of the modified sand landscape to be referenced at a later time. Selecting this option will require you to reset the sand on the table and calibrate once more.
- Duplicate Scenario - Selecting this option will create a duplicate of the currently selected scenario and add it to the menu.
Map Layers Menu
The menu can be used to display the map’s base layers, overlays, and simulation layers. Opening this menu reveals columns that display the different overlays and base layers based on type. Items highlighted in blue are enabled. Selecting any of these options will enable or disable them on the display.
Progressions Menu
This menu can be used to view the progression of fires that have been uploaded to the database. Selecting any of the progressions will load up the simulation for you to observe how the fire and conditions changed across the landscape.
Simulation Controls
This menu displays the controls and reset functions of the current simulation. Here simulations can be played/paused, have their speed adjusted, or entirely reset.
- Play/Pause - This tool is used to play or pause the current simulation. When highlighted white with a small arrow, the simulation is paused. If the button is highlighted in blue, the simulation is running.
- Simulation Speed - Next to the play/pause button is the speed. By default, the simulation will run at 1x speed or real time. This can be changed using the buttons to the left and right of the current speed–all adjustments are made in multiples of two.
Simulation Status
This readout displays the current status of the simulation in both time and acres burned.
Reset
This button can be used to reset all currently running simulations completely or to the most recently saved checkpoint. This tool will clear most everything currently running on the simulation table.
Checkpoint Scenario
This tool is used to make a checkpoint within the runtime of the simulation. This tool can be used again to create a new checkpoint or erase the current checkpoint.
Clipboard Access
This tool places a QR code on the display. Scanning the QR code allows for a device to access the clipboard function of the SimTable. The clipboard function allows other devices to access the current simulation. They are capable of changing variables or simply observing the simulation.
Fullscreen - Show/Hide UI
This button places the display in fullscreen. After doing so, you will be able to hide the user interface, including all buttons, status displays, and dial menus.
