Cal Poly Humboldt Aviation Club

Club Mission Statement

The club has been created to reduce barriers for students interested in aviation by providing a fun, inviting experience. The Aviation Club offers students the opportunity to learn how to use the flight simulator, provides guidance on obtaining a drone pilot license, and offers events both on and off campus for community engagement with aviation.

Club President Statement

Aviation as a personal and professional pursuit has a high barrier to entry for both time and cost. The aviation club seeks to reduce those barriers by providing access to resources for the community that they may not have access to aviation training. The campus has a brand new flight simulator for training pilots. The simulator allows them to practice without the prohibitive cost of acquiring an airplane. With the ability to simulate the experience of flying to the point that your brain can't tell the difference, and the fact it is free, the flight simulator is a wonderful resource. Aviation Club membership is an incredible opportunity for any student looking to pursue a job in aviation. --Orion Nichols (Mechanical Engineering B.S. '26)
