Borrowing Digital Media Equipment

Current Cal Poly Humboldt students, staff, and Faculty with a valid Humboldt ID Card may check out equipment from the Library Front Desk on the first floor.

Faculty and staff that need equipment for a full semester or longer, should check with their departments before trying to check out equipment from the Library.

Borrowers are responsible for all applicable charges of the equipment, or any included accessories which are damaged, lost, stolen, or returned late.

Equipment must be returned to the Front Desk. Do not place equipment in a Library book drop or book return slot.

  • Calculators - TI-84 Plus, TI-30X IIS
  • Cell Phone Chargers and Power Banks
  • Webcams
  • Headphones
  • Digital Photography Cameras - Canon, Nikon, GoPro
  • Video Cameras - Canon Vixia, GoPro, Insta 360
  • Audio Recorders/Mics - Zoom, Sennheiser, Sure, Rode
  • Accessories - Tripods, Projectors, Sound Systems, Lighting Systems

Software Available on Laptops

Laptops include the same software found on any Library computer, including:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Web browser(s)
  • Matematica
  • RStudio

Laptop and Digital Media Equipment Loan Periods and Condition of Use

  • Most equipment is checked out for 3 days
  • Chromebooks and Macs circulate for a full semester (limited availability based on first come, first served)
  • PCs circulate for both 3 days and 3 weeks (availability based on first come, first served)
  • There is a $5 per day overdue fine for equipment
  • Equipment replacement cost ranges between $20 and $2000
  • Renewals may be granted based on equipment needs
  • Library equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis

Remember to save your files to your Google Drive or USB device. Files saved to the desktop of C: drive will be lost.
