Computers in the Library

Computer stations are available in two labs (L121, L122) for registered students, staff, and faculty. There are also computer stations in the open space outside of those labs and elsewhere throughout the building.  They are open whenever the Library is open.

There are two types of computer stations available in the building:

  • Auto Logon/Quick Reference stations provide access to library resources only. No individual logon is required or possible. Printing is not available from these stations. Email is not available.
  • Student/Staff/Faculty stations are available throughout the building and require a valid university account. Printing is available using printers on all three floors.

Please note: Things are always changing, so check the ITS Computer Lab list for the most up-to-date availability for computer labs.

Printing

Printers in the Library are managed ITS. Black and white and color printers are located by the Tech Help Desk on the 1st floor, south.  Printers can also be found on the 2nd and 3rd floors to the west of the elevators.

  • Computers on each floor print to the printers on that floor. Print jobs from L121 and L122 labs go to the printers by the Tech Help Desk. There are both black and white and color options available there.

  • Wireless printing requires installation of special software and print to the 1st floor printers. The Tech Help Desk can provide assistance with this installation.

Print jobs are deducted from your C-Card account at 4¢/page for black & white and 25¢/page for color.

Print Kiosks are located throughout campus. See this map of Student Print Locations and check the ITS printing website below for more information.

Microform Services

Library users may view microform and microfilm in the Library free of charge, however, printing from microform machines is not available at this time.

The Library provides viewing stations adjacent to the area where the microform resources are housed on the second floor.

  • Two Microform Machines: used only for viewing microform.
  • One Microform Computer: used to view and scan microform with limited database access. You must have an external USB drive to save files.

Special Collections on the third floor has a Microform Computer that can be used to view and scan microform. It is accessible to non-student community members. This computer has no Internet access so your pages can not be printed or sent by email. You must have an external USB drive to save files.

See this PDF Quick Start User Guide for more information on operating the digital viewer.

ADA Access

All of the computers in the Library have accessibility software installed. Magic (Magic 14) screen magnification software provides support for low vision users and Jaws (Jaws 2020) screen reader software is also available.

Two workstations on the first floor of the Library are set to a wheelchair accessible height and are marked as reserved. One motorized, adjustable height workstation is located on the first floor, outside of room 114.
