Celebrate Authors and Readers on February 14th!
On Valentines Day, Cal Poly Humboldt celebrates the 9th Annual Cal Poly Humboldt Authors Celebration at the Library. We love authors and we love readers!
The Office of the Provost and Library invite you to join us to celebrate the Cal Poly Humboldt Authors who have published works in 2022, including over 600 authored works published by The Press at Cal Poly Humboldt. We will also enjoy cake, sparkling cider, and trivia plus an opportunity to win the Staff Council Cookbook 2020-2021.
Hear from guest author and alumna Meg Godlewski, Cal Poly Humboldt class of 1987. Meg has been practicing the craft of journalism since her undergrad days beginning at KHSU when she broke the news of the Challenger explosion to Humboldt County. Enamored with aviation since childhood, her goal was to find a career that combined both aviation and journalism. Meg spent 10 years as a broadcast journalist while she learned to fly. She then spent 15 years as a reporter at General Aviation News, a national publication, while she earned her pilot certificates through multi engine instructor rating. Today, she is the Technical Editor of the internationally known FLYING Magazine and specializes in simulation instruction helping aspiring aviators to acquire the skills they need to be safe in the skies.
Hear about The Press at Cal Poly Humboldt and our goal to provide opportunities for every student to publish before they graduate. All authors are welcome to share about their works during the open mic following the event.
9th Annual Cal Poly Humboldt Authors Celebration February 14, 2023 from 3 - 4pm, will be located on the 2nd floor of the Cal Poly Humboldt Library, in the Cal Poly Humboldt Authors Hall. Event details at authors.humboldt.edu
