Jerry and Gisela Rohde have created three endowed charitable funds to support staff positions in the Library's Special Collections, The Press at Cal Poly Humboldt, and OLLI for over $2 million. This is in addition to their previous donations which pays for student internships in the Library and OLLI.
As writers and teachers, they have numerous ties with the Library and OLLI. Gisela worked in Periodicals for almost 30 years and Jerry has used the archives for his many presentations and their multiple books. Both have been teaching classes on hiking, history, and more through OLLI for the past 20 years. The Library will also be the beneficiary of Jerry's extensive archives, the Rohde Research Papers Collection, that will continue to educate future students and scholars.
