The purpose of this session is to introduce you to the information finding tools for locating monographic materials (books, videos, music scores, compact discs, maps, etc.) in the HSU Library. Two tools are at your disposal: the HSU Library Catalog, Catalyst, and the Library of Congress Classification System.

Background Information

• Library of Congress Classification System (HSU Library) and Library of Congress Classification Outline (Library of Congress) used for organizing books by "subject" in most collections in the HSU Library and in other academic libraries.
