• Catalog of Maps (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. World Soil Resources Office) 1965 (ref S 591 F66 1965) Worldwide bibliography of maps utilized in producing the FAO Soil Map of the World. Includes listing of geological, climate, vegetation, land use, and soil maps.
• Distribution Maps of Dominant Soil Orders (US Natural Resources Conservation Service) Series of maps on a national base showing distribution of soil orders in the United States.
• FAO-UNESCO Soil Map of the World (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) 1971-1981 (map G 3201 J3 s5000 F66) Original FAO soil maps series covering each continent at a scale of a scale of 1:5 million.
• World Reference Base for Soil Resources: Soil Maps (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) Includes a map of world soil resources at scale 1:25.000.000 that is generalized from the FAO/UNESCO Soil Map of the World and updated using the World Reference Base for Soil Resources classification; and distribution maps for each of the major soil reference groups.

• United States
  • Soil Survey of [County] (US Natural Resources Conservation Service) (Docs A 57.38) Major map and report series that provides interpretations of soil types, generally on a county basis. Depending on the date of production will also include land capability and engineering information. There is a print List of Printed Soil Surveys is available with he series and a online list by state and a map indicating Soil Survey Status. Recent survey reports are also available online.
  • SoilWeb: an Online Soil Survey Browser (California Soil Resource Lab) Can be used to access National Cooperative Soil Survey detailed soil survey data (SSURGO) for most of the United States. Available in several interfaces--web, Google Earth, cell phone and text.
• US General Soil Map (STATSGO) (U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service) Database containing state-level soil maps made by generalizing detailed soil survey data. The level of mapping is designed to be used for broad planning and management uses covering state, regional, and multi-state areas. Data is designed for use in a GIS. Previously known as the State Soil Geographic Database.
• USA Soil Survey (ESRI) Interactive map showing the Soil Survey Geographic (SSURGO) soil data layer created by the U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service's National Cooperative Soil Survey along with a hydro reference layer. Map can be viewed with the default ArcGIS map viewer or ArcGIS Explorer.
• Web Soil Survey (U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service) Database containing National Cooperative Soil Survey reports as viewable maps and tables for more than 2300 soil surveys in the United States and its territories. Define an area of interest using an interactive map, or enter an address, county, hydrologic unit or soil survey area; view and print a map of the specified area that is overlaid on an orthophoto backdrop; access and view soil data for the area and determine its suitability for a particular use; and download soil attribute data for gis use from the Soil Data Mart.
