Indexes can be used to find popular, scholarly, and professional literature published in journals, magazines, conference proceedings, government documents, and other types of publications. Before starting a literature search a search strategy should be developed which defines and logically organizes a search into its unique concepts. The Search Strategy Worksheet presents a four-step outline for developing such a subject search strategy.
