Generally impressive sites:
- AskERIC
- Arguably the most complete lesson plan source on the Internet, it was discontinued at the end of 2003, but is still being maintained as the Educator's Reference Desk.
- ASCD
- Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development is the major professional organization in this area.
- Great Web Sites for Kids
- American Library Association is responsible for this carefully selected collection of web sites. The selection criteria are particularly nice.

- The Gateway to Educational Materials - GEM
- This one-stop educational resource is a collaborative project sponsored by the National Library of Education and the U.S. Department of Education. It really is a GEM.
- Homework Center
- Multnomah County Library provides this page. Sites are grouped by subject; "Social Issues" is particularly useful.
- The Learning Page... Especially for Teachers
- Primary source material galore and how to use it in the classroom, including copyright information all from the Library of Congress American Memory.
- Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators
- Kathy says this "categorized list of sites is useful for enhancing curriculum and professional growth. It is updated often to include the best sites for teaching and learning."
- Teachers Helping Teachers
- Lesson plans in all subject areas and a forum for teachers to get answers to questions and problems.
- Thinkfinity
- “This free, comprehensive digital learning platform is built upon the merger of two acclaimed programs Verizon MarcoPolo and the Thinkfinity Literacy Network.” Content, including more than 55,000 standards-based lesson plans, comes from 9 content provider partners.
