IDENTIFY CONCEPTS, PHRASES AND KEYWORDS
Prior to beginning a search it is important to clarify the terminology of concepts, phrases and keywords. What produces results in one database may not prove as effective in another. Similarly, terms that work as Keywords may not be included as Subject or Index terms in the same database! Most importantly, remember that there is an inverse correlation when searching: the more specific the search terms, the fewer yet more targeted the results; the less specific the search terms, the greater the number of results but they will be less on point.
