Each February, students in 4th grade through high school compete in Humboldt County History Day, held at Humboldt State University. Through the rigorous process of researching and preparing creative and original History Day projects, students learn and analyze issues, ideas, people, and events in history and apply that knowledge to their projects. The projects must reflect this year’s National History Day theme which is "Taking a Stand in History."
Come early to the Library to see posters, websites, videos, and more.  History Day events will be on the 2nd floor from 8am-1pm
For more information and History Day 2017 resources, please visit humboldtrisingstars.org/events/history-day.

Author Richard Edward Benoit will read from his book A Pinch of Powder in the Fishbowl from 7:30pm to 8:30pm on Wednesday, February 8, followed by a discussion and a book signing. A Pinch of Powder is the first book in the Pulvology series. Dr. Benoit studied chemistry and biology in college. He went on to get a doctorate in dental surgery. While working in Guatemala, he was captivated by a local story and felt it needed to be recorded. And so began his love of writing. Let's gather in the Fishbowl to celebrate this book launch!
