Library Labs Policy for Use

The primary purpose of the L121 lab is to provide instruction for library and research skills. The primary purpose of the L308 Library Learning Lab* is for students, faculty, and staff to collaborate and for instruction related group projects. Priorities and types of use for the labs:

  1. Library instruction by librarians. These sessions may be single events or a series. These may be affiliated with a scheduled course or drop-in workshops.
  2. Computer lab, open for students and faculty to use on a drop-in basis when not otherwise scheduled for instruction.
  3. Library instruction taught by non-librarians. These sessions, typically taught by the course instructor, are for the purpose of orienting students to the use of online resources. Instructors will be limited to two sessions per semester for each class section starting week six. Requests for the lab before week 6 will be considered on a case-by-case basis with confirmation the week before the class is held.
  4. Library Instruction is heavy during summer immersion so please work with the Librarians (librarians@humboldt.edu) before scheduling events in the Library during August.

*Please note that the collaboration stations in the Library Learning Lab (L308) are Chromeboxes, not Windows computers. Please familiarize yourself with the technology prior to your class.
