Undergraduate, Freshman (Year 1), Engineering / Computer Science

Instead of asking, "what is the minimum service I require" ask something more simple, this made this assessment unclear.

Undergraduate, Freshman (Year 1), Performing & Fine Arts

About this survey--many questions were redundant and unnecessary. About the employees: sometimes I don't feel comfortable checking out certain materials, feeling as if the checkout people are judging me.

Undergraduate, Sophomore (Year 2), Health Sciences

:D

Undergraduate, Junior (Year 3), Agriculture / Environmental Studies

the survey is great to improve your work there at that library

Undergraduate, Junior (Year 3), Communications / Journalism

I love the library, looking through old books to find powedered pot in the crease is just classic!

Undergraduate, Junior (Year 3), Education

survey was confusing seemed like same questions were asked over and over Suguest format change

Undergraduate, Junior (Year 3), Performing & Fine Arts

I wasn't aware that I could use electronic services remotely.

Undergraduate, Junior (Year 3), Other

this survey was somewhat confusing on the 1-9 stuff especially the minimum thing.

Undergraduate, Junior (Year 3), Other

I think that a smaller survey with less ratings would be better. one through eight is alot

Undergraduate, Senior (Year 4), Business

thank you :)

Undergraduate, Senior (Year 4), Engineering / Computer Science

I didn't know what "runs" are, neither did I know what was meant by "prints" or "collections," so I couldn't answer questions on those topics. Thanks!

Undergraduate, Senior (Year 4), Engineering / Computer Science

survey too long

Undergraduate, Senior (Year 4), Humanities

I am not using the library after this semester...I'm graduating. this is a pointless survey for me

Undergraduate, Senior (Year 4), Science / Math

Current periodicals in many disciplines, as well as on-line access for research, are absolutely essential.

Undergraduate, Senior (Year 4), Science / Math

I'm not sure what the last question is asking. It's my first semester at Humboldt and using the libraray, so some of the needs listed are based on a few months of usage.

Undergraduate, Senior (Year 4), Science / Math

I don't have internet access from my home.

Undergraduate, Senior (Year 4), Science / Math

I strongly encourage you to adapt the computer sytstem to include current students to avoid problems with registration stickers. I have had problems checking books out because I did not have my sticker. The library/university has my social security number everywhere in its data base, I have paid my tuition, I do not have late fees in the library, but I can not check a book out because I don't have a sticker. I find this lack of intercampus communication to be irritating and unprofessional. I hope that in the furture this problem can be avoided for the sake of other students.

Undergraduate, Senior (Year 4), Social Sciences / Psychology

We need books!

Undergraduate, Senior (Year 4), Undecided

I love Joan Berman!!!!

Graduate, Masters, Agriculture / Environmental Studies

this survey was too dificult

Graduate, Masters, Performing & Fine Arts

As a teaching graduate student, full library services as accorded paid teachers, would support my students classroom experience

Graduate, Masters, Science / Math

I'm not really sure that this survey will accurately reflect most students' experience and opinion of the library.

Graduate, Masters, Social Sciences / Psychology

I am the customer and the customer is always right! You are there to help me and not work on your own thing when I ask for help. Sorry If I have to pick your brain, but eventually I will get it then I will leave you alone to do your work.

Graduate, Masters, Social Sciences / Psychology

All library categories should be near excellent considering the government funding, tuition and grants which are poured into the system.

Graduate, Non-degree or Undecided, Humanities

1. Your map collection is pitiful and unworthy of an institution of higher learning 2 The children's collection is always a mess

Graduate, Non-degree or Undecided, Science / Math

Often there are very few people working. This is probably a problem at the budget level, rather than at the service level--everyone who is there is usually cheerful and helpful. It would be good to be able to browse the music section. Maybe you could keep the cases for the music separate from the CDs, tapes, etc. The catalog is REALLY tough to use for music unless you know exactly what you're looking for. It'd be great to have a large area of the library that is lit with incandescent bulbs. Also, some ventilation in the building would be a nice touch. Nothing like stale air while we're trying to stay awake and study! The amount of time it took me to get a dissertation from another CSU last semester made me hesitant about relying on the HSU library for interlibrary loan. It took about 1.5 months for HSU to get the dissertation and by then the class was over. One last thing--Sharon Chadwick is a great person! She knows a lot about a wide variety of subjects and she teaches research skills in a very effective way. Thanks for your work...M

Faculty, Lecturer, Humanities

This was quiz needed some editing. Many of the categories seemed redundant. I feel if you want best responses you will shorten the survey and get rid of the three tiers. Boring. Too much accountability makes for dullness.

Faculty, Assistant Professor, Social Sciences / Psychology

why do huge departments like psychology get less than their share of resources -- you seem to have no way to address any changes in department size that occur, sticking with outdated allocations, always afraid to take away from departments that no longer have the #s they used to.

Faculty, Professor, Humanities

I have an extensive professional library purchased through grant money; I am mostly concerned that the library serve my students.

Faculty, Professor, Science / Math

I have a friend who wants to give the library some rare and valueable books. Talked to Bob Sathrum who provided timely information and gave me name of Mary Kay. Sent e-mail and telephone messge to Mary Kay about 3-4 weeks ago. Have not heard a word. VERY IRRITATING!

Faculty, Professor, Social Sciences / Psychology

Unfortunately this survey isn't designed to effectively collect and interpret any useful data. Results should not be taken seriously.
