IngentaConnect Document Delivery Service - HSU Library
IngentaConnect Document Delivery Service
For faculty and graduate students the Library offers unmediated, fully
subsidized document delivery from the IngentaConnect database.
Students
in capstone senior classes may also be eligible. Instructors should see
their librarian bibliographer.
IngentaConnect contains 11 million journal articles from 20,000 journals
and is
updated daily.
After searching the IngentaConnect database, you can select
and have articles from journals delivered within 24 hours to the fax
machine specified in your user profile. In addition some articles are
available for online fulltext delivery. (Grad students: You will
have to obtain your department's permission to use their fax machine for
receiving IngentaConnect articles. A fax machine is also available in the
Library Copy Center at a cost of 10 cents per page; the phone
number is 826-4144. You may also contact the HSU Bookstore or Kinko's for
alternatives.)
HOW TO SIGN UP
Registration forms are available from the Information Services Office
(L112, 826-3418) or online.
Completed forms are to be turned in to the same
office; you will then receive complete instructions to Start Using IngentaConnect.
ABOUT THE SERVICE
- Some journals indexed in IngentaConnect are not available for fax
document
delivery.
- Journals with HSU holdings indicated are blocked from fax document
delivery even if the Library does not have the specific volume/year. You
will need to use regular Interlibrary Loan.
- The Library will subsidize orders costing up to $40.00 per article.
- Faculty need only sign up once for continued access. Grad students must
sign up each academic year.
- Users agree to restrict the use of the account to personal academic
research and teaching needs.
REVEAL RESEARCH ALERTS
HSU faculty, students, and staff with an IngentaConnect profile can
establish
current awareness profiles which are run against the IngentaConnect
database on a
weekly basis. You may select up to 50 journal titles from which to receive
tables of contents or create up to 25 subject or author keyword search
strategies. Both tables of contents and search strategy results are sent
automatically to the email address provided in your user profile. See Start Using IngentaConnect for
directions.
