How Do I Find Study Space in the Library?
Carrels for quiet study space are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Library.
Portable white boards are available on all three floors of the Library for use by study groups. Markers are available at the Reference desk, Circulation Desk, Help Desk, or in Room 112.
The following rooms are available for individual or group study. They may be reserved for group study according to the procedures specified for each room. These rooms are not available to be scheduled as classrooms for ongoing course instruction. Study room reservations are available only to currently registered students, staff and faculty of Humboldt State University.
115, 116, 117: These rooms each contain a white board and study tables plus a wall-mounted, large screen monitor that take laptop hook-ups.
208: This room contains video and DVD viewing equipment, a white board, and study tables. Signup is available through an online form.
311, 312: These rooms each contain video and DVD viewing equipment, a chalk board or white board, and study tables. Signup is available through an online form.
The following rooms are not available for scheduling by students but may be used according to these priorities:
- Instruction scheduled by librarians
- Library meetings
- Group study and conference
- Individual study
Pink cards posted next to the door of each room list any scheduled uses.
114: This room contains video and DVD viewing equipment and a white board for individual or group study. Seating is mainly at individual desks, which may be rearranged as desired. The overhead projector is for use by library personnel only, in the course of their work. Smart classrooms are available elsewhere on campus for student use.
209 (Fishbowl): This room may be scheduled for Library events only. If not scheduled, it is available for group and individual study. Seating is at tables and on couches along the walls. The room contains a portable white board.
