- Britannica World - Statistics on individual countries. From Encyclopedia Britannica Online.
- Commonwealth Geography - The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of 54 member countries, whose people span all continents and oceans and form a third of the world's population. This site has demographic information and statistics on all the members and includes the full text of The Commonwealth Yearbook.
- Global Statistics - This site from Xist.org has historic data, projected data, rankings, and charts for the world as a whole as well as regions and individual countries.
- InfoNation - Derived from information used to compile the Statistical Yearbook and World Statistics Pocketbook, InfoNation is an easy-to-use, two-step database that allows you to view and compare the most up-to-date statistical data for the Member States of the United Nations.
- International Data Base (IDB) - From the US Census Bureau, the International Data Base (IDB) is a computerized data bank containing statistical tables of demographic, and socio-economic data for 227 countries and areas of the world.
- OECD Factbook - Economic, environmental and social statistics for the thirty developed member countries of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development).

- Statistics Canada - Statistics of all kinds pertaining to Canada may be found here.
- World Factbook - Prepared by the Central Intelligence Agency for the use of US Government officials. The style, format, coverage, and content are designed to meet their specific requirements. It includes country profiles and world summary figures. It is especially useful for data on small and obscure countries.
National
- American FactFinder - From the introduction, "American FactFinder lets you select the data you need for the geography of your choice from summary data files such as: 1990 Decennial Census Summary Files; American Community Survey Summary Tables; Census 2000 Dress Rehearsal Summary Files; and 1997 Economic Census Summary Files. These summary data products are derived from data sets with pre-aggregated, or summarized, data records. American FactFinder lets you search, browse, retrieve, view, print, save, and download the data. You may request tabulations online or you can obtain an extract of the data set (tables) and use your own software to analyze the data."
- CPANDA: Cultural Policy & the arts National Data Archive - Developed at Princeton and supported by Pew Charitable Trust, this is an interactive digital archive of data on the arts and cultural policy in the U.S. with data on artists, arts and cultural organizations, audiences, and funding for arts and culture.
- Fedstats: One Stop Shopping for Federal Statistics - More than 70 agencies in the United States Federal Government produce statistics of interest to the public. The Federal Interagency Council on Statistical Policy maintains this site to provide easy access to the full range of statistics and information produced by these agencies for public use. You may search the site at FedStats Search.
- Historical United States Census Data Browser - You can retrieve and format data from every federal census from 1790 to 1960, down to the county level.
- Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics - From the Bureau of Justice Statistics, this site "brings together data about all aspects of criminal justice in the United States presented in over 600 tables from more than 100 sources."
Stat
USA - Contains business, trade and economic reports, and statistical
series. Includes information from the National Trade Data Bank, Economic
Bulletin Board, Commerce Business Daily, Trade Opportunity Program, and
Bureau of Economic Analysis.- Statistical Abstract of the United States - This site has the most current edition with a link to the 1995-2000 editions and contains annual compilations of statistics gathered by federal agencies and other ngo's.

- California Statistical Abstract - The most recent edition of the California Statistical Abstract, a compilation of data on social, economic and physical aspects of the State.
- Counties Close Up - This page from the California State Association of Counties has links to county data and websites.
- Counting California (California Digital Library) Contains current and historical statistics from California and United States government sources. Search by keyword; or browse by topic, geography, title, or agency. See Browse Topics by Geography for statistics available at county and city levels. Includes all the material available in the California Statistical Abstract (print copy available in ref HA 261 C3).
- Guide to State Statistical Abstracts - This bibliography includes the most recent statistical abstracts for states published since 1995 plus those that will be issued in late 2003. For some states, a near equivalent has been listed in substitution for, or in addition to, a statistical abstract. All sources contain statistical tables on a variety of subjects for the state as a whole, its component parts, or both.
- Humboldt Economic Index - This is an excellent site for monthly economic information beginning in January 1994 when the site was called Index to Economic Activity for Humboldt County. See also their project reports.
Rand California Includes an
extensive collection of statewide, regional,

Categories for available statistics by geography. Also contains
information on California public policy and economics, weekly bulletins,
and an index to research and policy reports, some of which are fulltext.
- State and Metropolitan Area Data Book - The 1997/98 Data Book contains a collection of statistics on social and economic conditions in the United States at the State and metropolitan area levels. Selected data for component counties and central cities of metropolitan areas are also included.
- USA Counties 1998 - This database from the Census Bureau compiles useful demographic, economic, and governmental information spanning several years and sources for county comparisons and profiles.
