Color Landform Atlas of the United States - Each state link brings up a menu of links to maps and other online information about the state.

Governments on the WWW - Comprehensive database of governmental institutions on the World Wide Web: parliaments, ministries, offices, law courts, embassies, city councils, public broadcasting corporations, central banks, multi-national organizations etc. Includes political parties. Online since June 1995. Contains more than 11,000 entries from 218 countries and territories as of January 1999. Frequently updated.
How far is it? - This service uses data from the US Census and a supplementary list of cities around the world to find the latitude and longitude of two places, and then calculates the distance between them (as the crow flies). It also provides a map showing the two places, using the Xerox PARC Map Server.
InfoNation - Derived from information used to compile the Statistical Yearbook and World Statistics Pocketbook, InfoNation is an easy-to-use, two-step database that allows you to view and compare the most up-to-date statistical data for the Member States of the United Nations.
National Atlas of the United States of America - The U.S. Geological Survey and its partners began work on The National Atlas of the United States of America in 1997. The National Atlas is designed to promote greater geographic awareness through the development and delivery of products that provide easy to use, map-like views of our natural and socio-cultural landscapes. These web pages include the earliest products of The National Atlas of the United States.
OPIC Information Gateway - Database provided by the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) containing more than 20,000 documents and other sources of economic, business, political and social data for all of the countries and areas in which OPIC can currently do business; grouped into 20 major categories such as government, business promotion, health, human rights, infrastructure, natural resources, trade, travel, press, diplomacy, etc.
Information sources include various federal agencies such as the Department of Commerce, the CIA and the State Department, multilateral organizations such as the World Bank, foreign government agencies and embassies, non-governmental organizations such as chambers of commerce and various trade and investment promotional organizations, travel information web sites, and many others.
Perry-Castaneda Library Map Collection - This collection at the University of Texas at Austin has over 2,000 map images available on the web.
TerraServer Atlas - A huge repository of aerial photographs and satellite images taken from miles overhead that may be viewed online. Brought to you by the folks at Microsoft.
TopoZone - The Web's Topographic Map - Get topographic maps online here! Just search the database of every USGS 1:100,000, 1:25,000, and 1:24,000 scale map for the entire United States by place name.
U.S. Gazetteer - From the U.S. Census Bureau, this may be used to identify places to view with the Tiger Map Server and obtain census data from the 2000 Census.
World Factbook - Prepared by the Central Intelligence Agency for the use of US Government officials - the style, format, coverage, and content are designed to meet their specific requirements. It includes country profiles and world summary figures. It is especially useful for data on small and obscure countries.
World Flag Database - A database of flag drawings from the Flag Institute Collection.
World Gazetteer - This site has current population figures for cities, towns, and places of all countries as well as information on current national flags.
