Answer these questions for each of the searches you do:
Are you satisfied with your search results? Why or why not? Did you
get enough records? Are they relevant to your topic? Are they too
general? Too specific?
As you look at the individual records in your search results, do you
see any terms in the Subject(s) list (near the top of the record)
that are a good match for your topic, or for one of your concepts? If so,
you can click on the subject term to search on it. Try this, and make
notes about the new results. What term(s) did you use? Are the results
better than your original search? Why or why not?
Use the Back button to get back to your original search results. Do
you see new terms to search on in the titles or abstracts of individual
items in your results? If so, try modifying your search to include these
new terms. What changes did you make? What are the results? Do the new
terms help you find useful items?
As you review your results, can you see other ways to modify your
original search? Could you truncate some words? Are there synonyms you
could use for some of your terms? Could you use nesting to do a more
complex search? What are some alternative searches you could try? Write
them out below:
