Klamath Forest Alliance Collection

The collection was created by the Klamath Forest Alliance (KFA) and Felice Pace, one of the co-founders of the organization and its Executive Director until 2002.  Between the late 1980s and 2010, KFA played major roles in the "timber wars" in the Klamath/Siskiyou Bioregion of Northwest California and Southwest Oregon, including timber sale appeals and litigation to defend roadless areas, the Northern Spotted Owl controversy, and efforts to protect Ancient Forests through federal legislation.  The collection also includes pre-KFA materials, primarily documenting Felice's work with California Indigenous American tribes (notably Karuk Tribe), the Marble Mountain Audubon (MMA), a chapter of the National Audubon Society, and the Siskiyou Regional Education Project (SREP), all providing context for the formation of KFA.
