HCC Map Collection

The Humboldt County Collection (HCC) Map Collection is housed in six 5-drawer map filing cases located in the Humboldt Room. The geographic scope of the collection is Northwestern California and the arrangement is primarily geographical. The collection has grown over the years with additions from a variety of sources. In 1998 worksheets were made for each item in the collection and in 2011 the bulk of the collection was entered into a Microsoft Access database which can be searched on the Humboldt Room Map Collections page. In searching, choose geographic terms or subject terms, e.g. mining or railroads.
