The HSU Library is a congressionally designated selective depository for U.S. Government documents and the State of California. Public access to the government documents collection is guaranteed by public law. (Title 44 United States Code). The Library currently receives 64% of the materials made available to the public by federal agencies, including all Congressional hearings. These materials may be in print, microfiche, digital or web-based format. HSU became an official federal depository in 1963 but the collection includes materials dating from the 1860s.
