Returning Library Materials

There are three drop locations for the return of most Library materials:

  1. Inside the Library, 1st floor lobby, along the wall to the right of the Circulation Desk. Please sort your returns by material type and/or call number, as indicated. This drop is available whenever the Library is open.
  2. Outside the Library, on the face of the Library building to the right of the entrance doors. This drop is available at all times.
  3. Outside the Library, on the Plaza Drive circle next to the mailbox. This drop is normally available all days that the Library is open.

Some materials require special handling:

CDs, DVDs, and videos - please return only to the designated inside drop (last slot on right) to avoid damage from falling or from being crushed by other materials. Borrowers will be billed for damaged recordings.

Reserve materials - please return to the drop slot at the Reserve Desk (at the left end of the Circulation Desk) in order to receive proper credit for return and to avoid overdue fines.

Interlibrary Loan items, Case periodicals, oversized books and items loaned with special exceptions - please return to a staff member at the Circulation Desk to help us recognize and handle them appropriately. Periodicals should be returned to the periodical/documents slot in the hallway on the first floor, or to an outside drop if they are not overdue. Please do not leave items at the Circulation Desk without acknowledgment from staff.

We do not routinely accept returns for other libraries, but items belonging to other libraries will eventually be routed to their home. We will indicate the date that we received these items, but we do not guarantee that the owning library will not charge overdue fines.
