About Print Reserves
PRINT RESERVES
Print Reserves are physical items that are placed on reserve by instructors for the use of students enrolled in their courses. These can be materials from the library collection or instructors’ personal copies, and they are kept in the closed stacks behind the Reserve Desk in the lobby. They are available for limited checkout as specified by the instructor and include items such as:
- Books
- Articles
- Documents
- Lecture notes
- Exam copies
- DVDs and videos
- CDs
- Computer software
- Maps, etc.
Reserves submissions must follow the Copyright and Fair Use guidelines.
PERMANENT RESERVES
Permanent Reserves are items of general interest available for limited checkout, also located in closed stacks behind the Reserves Desk, including:
- Book of the Year hard copy and CD versions
- CSU/campus related information
- Federal/State tax forms and information
- Study materials for the Government and History Challenge Exams
- HSU catalogs
- Materials for faculty training such as software
- Study materials for the CBEST, GRE, GWPE, MPT, TOEFL exams
- General interest items such as Environmental Impact Reports, APA materials, MLA handbook, Merck Index, Physician’s Desk Reference, etc.
Search for Print Reserve or Permanent Reserve items
- Search by the instructor's last name or the course number to find materials currently on reserve for a class.
- Permanent Reserves are listed under Department on the search page.
- If an item listed has "ONCORES" or “Moodle” in the listing, it is an electronic reserve item. Select the title to access these items - see the ONCORES pages for more info.
- If the item record does not reference ONCORES, it is a Print Reserve (hard copy) item, available for checkout at the Reserve Desk on the first floor of the Library.
