Community Borrowers and/or Alumni
Community members who are at least 18 years old, with California DMV identification, and a Humboldt County address may borrow books for a fee. The fee is $14 for four months, or $35 for a year, with a $5 initial charge to have the card made. Application forms are available at the Circulation Desk any time the Library is open.
Members of the Alumni Association may borrow from the Library as a benefit of membership, without additional fees except $5 to first have the card made. Bring your Alumni membership card and California DMV identification to the Library during ID hours.
With a Resident or Alumni card you will be entitled to most library privileges. Notable exceptions are access to search/hold services, interlibrary loan services, video checkout, and remote access to licensed electronic databases. Current Community and Alumni borrowers are also eligible for a computer login that gives the borrower 2 hours per day of internet usage on selected library computers. Ask at the ID Office when you receive your library card.
