This morning NPR broadcast a story on heightened tensions in Afghanistan related to the movie’s forthcoming appearance. There are growing worries over the film’s depiction of ethnic tensions, the depiction of the Taliban, and on a personal level, distress in the families of the children who starred in the movie, allegedly unaware of the plot details since the novel was published in English.
