The HSU/CR Book of the Year committee is proud to present visiting Mississippi natives and civil rights scholars Dr. Tiyi Morris and Dr. Emilye Crosby to discuss the controversy and context surrounding Kathryn Stockett’s book The Help. Drs. Morris and Crosby will be appearing in the Forum Theater on CR’s main campus 1-3pm, Thursday, April 5.
The next day, Friday, April 6, they will appear at HSU 2-4pm in the Kate Buchanan Room.
Both events are free and open to the public. Drs. Morris and Crosby are both affiliated with The Fannie Lou Hamer National Institute on Citizenship and Democracy in Jackson, Mississippi, a nationally recognized center for research and analysis of the Civil Rights Movement.
