Boyle is not an accomplished enough author to have two of his books as Book of the Year. I hope the committee considers that we have already had Tortilla Curtain as a selection, and that plot and theme are not criteria enough to have a second novel by an author–unless it is a writer of the stature of a Nobel, Pulitzer, or National Book Award winner.
