   Rather than bringing Kathryn Stockett to campus, I encourage us to expand the discussion of the text and instead bring a panel of speakers who can address the narratives from a multicultural feminist framework. There has been much media attention in critique of the book. There is an opportunity for us to take advantage of the controversies — engaging them to further our own understandings and insights into race, class & gender dynamics.
