LibQual Library User Satisfaction Survey

Would you like to make suggestions on how to improve library services and to comment upon how well you think we are doing as we assist you in finding information? Please watch for the announcement which will include the url for the questionnaire asking your opinion on library services. The survey will be available starting March 20, 2006 and run through April 7, 2006. The survey was developed by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and is a large-scale, user-based assessment of library effectiveness. It has been used by thousands of libraries and will allow us to compare our service quality against other peer libraries. Your responses will be anonymous and it will take 10-15 minutes to answer the questionnaire

In 2002 we did a similar survey and found it to be very useful. Some of the positive results from the last survey included making the videos available for check out; creating small group areas through the purchase of the white boards located on every floor of the Library; working to create the Fishbowl Room in response to losing several of our small conference rooms on the 3d floor; refining support service for the Copy Center; purchase of new printer/scanner/microfilm readers; highlighting the quiet study areas on various maps of the Library.

Incentives for helping us to improve our services will be one video iPod and four $50.00 gift certificates from the Bookstore. We will do a drawing of names chosen randomly from a list supplied to us by the Association of Research Libraries, where the servers for the test instrument are housed.
