Access Policy for Non-Affiliated Borrowers of the Humboldt State University Library

Non-affiliated borrowers are defined as anyone not currently employed by, or attending, HSU. Retired staff and emeritus faculty are still considered affiliated. There is a separate policy for alumni borrowing.

Library's Exhibits Policy

Reservations for the display cases in the HSU Library are made through the Library Administration Office. Reservations can be made two weeks before the start of fall classes for the coming academic year. Non-Library affiliated displays can go up for two weeks.

Policy for Responsible Computing in the Humboldt State University Library

The use of Library computing resources is governed by the Guidelines for Responsible Computing at Humboldt State University (Appropriate Use Policy) contained in University Management Letter 01-02 (April 2001) and the CSU Information Security Policy (April 19, 2010).

Public Use Policy

The mission of the Library at Humboldt State University is to provide the information, collections, and services that are necessary to support the instructional programs, research, and outreach services of Humboldt State University.

User Privacy Policy of the Humboldt State University Library

It is the policy of the Humboldt State University Library to respect the privacy of all users to the extent permitted by law. The Library will not reveal the identities of individual users (names, addresses, telephone numbers, social security numbers) or reveal what information sources or services they consult (books checked out, questions asked), to anyone outside of the organization unless required to by law.
