Periodicals / Serials

Periodicals & Media Assistance Window - Academic Year Hours
Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday CLOSED

Inquire at the Reference Desk on the first floor of the Library for assistance with periodicals, serials, or newspapers during hours when the Periodicals & Media Assistance Window is closed.

Periodicals and newspapers are shelved in the north wing of the Library on the second floor (see Library Map for details). During the hours listed above, staff are available at the Periodicals and Media Assistance Window in that area to assist with locating and using periodicals, newspapers, and serials, as well as the multimedia materials in the Media Resources Area.

To find HSU Library holdings, call number, and microform number for a periodical, serial, or newspaper, look in the HSU Library Catalog.

Periodicals may be checked out overnight and are due back to the Library before closing the following day. To check out a periodical, take the issue or volume to the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the Library. Note that newspapers may not be checked out.

There are self-service readers and copiers for microfilm and microfiche located near the microform cabinets; help with these machines is available at the Periodicals and Media Assistance Window. For more information on micrographic services in the Library, consult the Microform Collection and Services Page.

If the HSU Library does not own a periodical, HSU students and faculty have the option of obtaining periodical articles via Interlibrary Loan.
