Uncovering Service) is a searchable database of abbreviations
and acronyms in Biotechnology that contains terms in such categories as:

Grants, Journals, Laboratories, Medicine, Molecular Biology/Genetics, Neuroscience,

Search - This service searches over 8,000 titles, including 3,854 titles
currently indexed for MEDLINE. This service can assist in converting the
full title of a biomedical journal to an abbreviation or, from an abbreviation,
into the full title.

EURODICAUTOM - You may search for
terms or abbreviations in Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German,
Greek, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, Spanish, or Swedish. Terms may
be translated into another language if you wish. This site has journal
title abbreviations but there is no indication of how many there are or

- The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of over 50 member countries,
whose people span all continents and oceans and form a quarter of the world's
population. This site has demographic information and statistics
on all the members and includes the full text of The
Commonwealth Yearbook.

Country Studies / Area
Handbook Series - From the Library of Congress's Federal Research Division,
this series presently contains studies of 85 countries.

Geographic Nameserver - This
searchable database at MIT has information (placename, state, county, latitude/longitude,
elevation, population, zip code) on locations within the US.

Governments on the WWW - Comprehensive
database of governmental institutions on the World Wide Web: parliaments,
ministries, offices, law courts, embassies, city councils, public broadcasting
corporations, central banks, multi-national organizations etc. Includes
political parties. Online since June 1995. Contains more than 11000 entries
from 218 countries and territories as of January 1999. Frequently updated.

How far is it? - This service
uses data from the US Census and a supplementary list of cities around
the world to find the latitude and longitude of two places, and then calculates
the distance between them (as the crow flies). It
also provides a map showing the two places, using the Xerox PARC Map
Server.

InfoNation
- Derived from information used to compile the Statistical Yearbook
and World Statistics Pocketbook, InfoNation is an easy-to-use,
two-step database that allows you to view and compare the most up-to-date
statistical data for the Member States of the United Nations.

National Atlas of the United States
of America - The U.S. Geological Survey and its partners began work
on The National Atlas of the United States of America in 1997. The
National Atlas is designed to promote greater geographic awareness through
the development and delivery of products that provide easy to use, map-like
views of our natural and socio-cultural landscapes. These web pages
include the earliest products of The National Atlas of the United States.

Factbook (1998 edition) - Prepared by the Central Intelligence
Agency for the use of US Government officials - the style, format,
coverage, and content are designed to meet their specific requirements.
It includes country profiles and world summary figures. It is especially
useful for data on small and obscure countries.

out all you need to know to buy your next car, especially if you are looking
for a used car. You can search for over 600,000 cars online and lisitngs
are updated daily. You can check out car reviews and ratings from
respected sources like Consumers Digest, Car and Driver,
Road & Track and car prices from the Kelley
Blue Book. You can even register to receive automatic notifications
of safety and recall information. Financial calculators allow you
to figure out loan payments.

California Driver Handbooks
- From the California Department of Motor Vehicles, this site has the text
of the Driver Handbook as well as the Motorcycle
Handbook, Mature Drivers Handbook, and the Recreational Vehicles
and Trailers Handbook. Sample driver tests are available as well.

- From the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, this site has

- Edmund's was the first site on the Internet to provide automobile pricing
information at no cost. Edmund's also provides extensive automobile reviews,
consumer information, information about incentives and rebates, expert
analysis of late-breaking developments in the automotive world.

Kelley Blue Book - New Car Pricing, Bluebook
Values - The information you need to make informed choices, whether
you are buying a new or used car; selling or trading in your own car.
Includes online finance quotes, insurance quotes and new car reviews.

Model Year 1999 Fuel
Economy Guide - Published by the U.S. Department of Energy as an aid
to consumers considering the purchase of a new vehicle. The Guide lists
estimates of miles per gallon (mpg) for each vehicle available for the
new model year. These estimates are provided by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency in compliance with Federal Law.
