- A guide by Robert Sathrum, HSU Natural Resources Librarian. It lists resources on the web as well as in print on development issues--international development, sustainable development, appropriate technology and women in development.

- This guide by Sharon Chadwick, HSU Science Librarian, includes resources in international development technology.
- Africa Contemporary Record: annual survey and documents (DT 3 A3)
- Published every two years each issue contains a essays on current African issues; reproduction of international and regional agreements and other documents; statistical tables; and lengthy country-by-country reviews that cover political affairs, defense and security, social affairs, foreign affairs, and economic affairs. Library has 1968/1969 to the present; latest edition in Reference.
- Britannica book of the year. (reference collection AE 5 E364)
- Library has 1939-98 of this annual publication that "bridges the gap between editions of the Encyclopaedia Britannica."
- Enciclopedia italiana di scienze, lettere ed arti. (reference collection AE 35 E5)
- Published in 1949, this Italian language encyclopedia has 36 volumes. Appendices cover 1937-78.
- Enciclopedia universal ilustrada europeo-americana. Suplemento anual. (reference collection AE 61 E6 Suppl)
- Supplementary volumes covering 1934-82 of the Spanish language Enciclopedia universal ilustrada europeo-americana (1907-33).
- Historical dictionary of [country name]. (reference collection in D, E, & F classifications)
- Each dictionary includes a chronology; short descriptions of important individuals and events in the history of the country; descriptions of major social and economic characteristics; and a bibliography of important books and articles.
- Keesing's contemporary archives. (D 410 K4)
- Library has 1931-1986 in the book collection on the second floor. After 1986, the title is Keesing's record of world events and the library has 1987 to date in the reference collection. Keesing's is a "record of national and international current affairs with continually updated indexes."
- World almanac and book of facts. (reference collection AY 67 N5 W7)
- This annual compendium contains statistics and miscellaneous information on a wide variety of topics. Library has 1900 to date.

- Index to economic literature selected from over 700 sources including journals, conference proceedings, books, dissertations, and working papers from 1969 to the present.

- Index to literature on geology, ecology, geography including geographical information systems, international development and oceanography published in 5,000 journals and other publications from 1980 to the present. International Development Abstracts is part of Geobase. International Development may be selected from the Subject Category pulldown menu. The majority of the references are to journal articles but also indexed are conference papers, books, and technical reports. - Published by the United Nations Dept. of Economic and Social Affairs and their Statistical Office, this resource is a compendium of international demographic statistics. Library has 1948-2001 with the two most recent editions (2000 & 2001) housed in the reference collection. The 1948 edition has several tables covering 1936 to 1947 and a few cover earlier years as well. - Published by the US Bureau of Mines. Volume IV Area Reports: International begins in 1963 and annually reports for each country on government policies, production, trade and individual commodities that include metal, non-metals and fuels. - Yearbook of Labour Statistics (HD 4826 I63)
- Prepared by the International Labour Office. Contains statistical time series for individual countries on employment, unemployment, hours of work, labor cost, consumer prices, occupational injuries and strikes and lockouts. Library has 1968-1993, 1995 to the present; latest edition is in reference. Most of this information is available in the LABORSTA database maintained by the International Labour Organization (ILO).

- Contains detailed national account estimates published by the United Nations Statistical Office. Library has 1957-1981. Later editions have various titles: (1) National accounts statistics.
